Introduction :
The 1st time I saw this watch was from a Japanese version Omega magazine
in 1995, this watch did not catch my eyes at the very beginning as
the Seamaster 600 "ProPlof" did as the case design has not been
very outstanding by looking from the front as shown above. Only until I
purchased this watch (Mainly because of it's 1000 meters diving ability), I noticed that the case design is not actually
that simple. It shows that it was well designed to meet the requirement of
1000m diving depth. The stainless steel mesh type bracelet which is being
lock by a spring type flip lock also shows that it was well designed for
diving purpose.
Descriptions :
Huge

Lug-to-Lug).

rotating bezel.

calendar movement Caliber 1012 - mineral crystal - screwed crown. This

| Comparison
between Model 600 & 1000 :
Compare to the
Seamaster 600 known as "ProPlof" diving
watch shown on the photo. This Seamaster 1000m / 3300ft diving watch
is a better waterproof / diving watch. As noticed has a waterproof /
diving ability up to 1000m (approx 3300 feet) tested.

Seamaster
1000M & 600M |
Even though the shape and
design of this watch has not made it as popular as the ProPlof
Seamaster, yet it is consider a very collectable Seamaster diving
watch as I believe not many were made during the 70s. It is
one of the best diving watch that Omega has ever made.

THE DIAL :~
The dial of this watch is quite similar to the ProPlof Seamaster,
except that at 6:00 position, it has written Seamaster 1000m /
3300ft Professional instead of Seamaster 600m / 2000ft
Professional or the other type Seamaster 600 that I have
seen.
Dial has a mat blue finish for
this one. Luminous hour markings, signed Omega Automatic at 12:00.
Hour & Second hands are white and Minute hand is Orange in
color. Date at 3:00. Also signed Swiss Made at the bottom of 6:00
position. |

Case
Back :
The case back of this watch as shown
has a horizontal groove pattern which I think was designed to
reduce actual contact area of the watch back with the human skin to
avoid water being trapped.
The Bracelet :
This is one of the most interesting part of this watch which has
been the MESH type stainless steel original Omega bracelet. I have
previously seen this type of bracelet being sold with a Seamaster
600 Proplof but I think this bracelet was only designed for this
1000m diving watch because when I tried to put this bracelet onto my
own ProPlof, I noticed that it was not tight fitted.
This mesh type bracelet is
quite heavy and it is being buckle up by a spring type flip lock (As
Shown). It has a extension piece for length adjustment. The buckle
is signed.

DESEMBLING :~
The picture shown on the right shows the major parts of which the
watch is made out of. It has 2 x Rubber Sealing Rings (one for
holding the movement & the base case and one for putting in
between the 2 plastic seals), 2 x Plastic Sealing Rings (This
assemble is to be placed in between the dial and the crystal for
sealing), 1 x Spring Type Crown with Stem (This has double seals
inside the screw crown for performing it's best waterproof
function), 1 x Metal Screw On Locking Ring (This is to press and
secure the crystal on top of the plastic sealing rings set in order
to stop water from entering into the movement compartment), 1 x
Thick Glass Crystal, 1 x Movement & Dial Set, 1 x Rotating Bezel
(Snap On Type), 1 x Base Case & Bracelet.

Remarks :
There is one thing that I would like to
mentioned regarding this Seamaster 1000M & Seamaster 600M (Plorpof). I
have noticed that often collectors will particularly specify whether that
want to buy a so call right hand version & left hand version. From my
point of view the dial on these watches can be rotated in order to switch
in between left / right hand version. The reason why I say that is because
this watch as shown is in right hand version but after I had it serviced
last year and the repairer accidentally put the dial back and made it now
a left hand version (Note : The watch is still using the same original
movement).
