Additional Information from Omega :

Born of the vast horological expertise, perseverance and imagination of the English master watchmaker George Daniels, the revolutionary coaxial escapement was launched at the World Watch, Clock & Jewellery Show held in Basel last April. Its development was unanimously saluted by industry observers and trade publications, while horological experts throughout the world concurred that the new design with coaxial escapement be voted Movement of the new Millenium.

The watch fitted with the coaxial escapement was then sold in three limited editions of 1,000 pieces in yellow gold, 1,000 in red gold and 100 in platinum. All proved very successful and have already become collectors’ items.

After two decades of research and development by George Daniels himself and five years of testing at Omega, the coaxial escapement is now in volume production, ready to give the DeVille Coaxial its highly accurate heartbeat during the Year 2000 and far beyond. This outstanding development is sure to be regarded as a pivotal reference for the watchmaking industry of the 21st century.
